Curriculum

Our curriculum is about more than content.

Relationships are important; our students are known, loved and cared for by their teachers. Our Christianity is embedded into our interactive and dynamic learning programs. Students are encouraged to discover their God given gifts and talents as they  explore diverse interests academically.

Stage 4 and 5 teaching and learning is a tailored curriculum that follows the approved NESA pattern of study. Students receive teaching in core subjects whilst engaging with specialist teachers to refine and support their learning objectives.

Prepared

By the conclusion of Year 10, students are thoroughly equipped to smoothly transition into Stage 6 learning. Our tailored Stage 5 teaching and learning curriculum is designed to provide students with a robust foundation, ensuring they are not only academically proficient but also well-versed in the essential skills needed for the heightened emphasis on independent learning in Years 11 and 12.

Supported

As students continue on their distinctive learning journey, our staff, both teaching and non-teaching, will walk along with them. Students receive unwavering support from our caring team, enabling them to engage in continuous learning, surpass the barriers of distance, overcome challenges, and eliminate constraints on accessing a comprehensive curriculum.

Student Wellbeing

Unlocking the potential of your child is intricately linked to their overall wellbeing. Our dedicated team of Pastoral Care teachers and professionals are committed to cultivating a secure and nurturing learning atmosphere that encompasses the holistic development of each individual. Through collaborative efforts with students, educators, and families, we strive to address and overcome educational obstacles while fostering growth and progress. Our priority is to enhance student wellbeing to enable them to flourish.

Experience Days

Our objective is to provide every student with a comprehensive and holistic education, aiming for their graduation and preparing them to lead fulfilling lives of service to others. Our Experience Days serve as a vital component of our educational program. Students gain hands-on learning with opportunities to serve. These on-campus events not only enhance practical knowledge but also enable strong connections to be formed within the Pacific Online Christian School community.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

JEREMIAH 29:11

Frequently Asked Questions

Are subjects delivered live and in person by the teachers, or are they all pre-recorded?

Learning is both live (synchronous) and on-demand (asynchronous), allowing students to connect with their teacher and peers in real-time and in a delayed dialogue on Canvas (our Learning Management System).

Do I have to be a stay-at-home parent for my child to learn online?

No, our teaching team will be in daily contact with students. We encourage students to take ownership of their learning and, as such, to develop responsible learning habits. However, a nominated on-site supervisor is required for any issues that may arise and as the main contact.

Is the curriculum the same as a physical school?

Yes, Pacific Online Christian School is a Campus of Pacific Coast Christian School and follows the NSW curriculum and NESA (New South Wales Education Authority) requirements. Pacific Coast Christian School is fully accredited through NESA to deliver curriculum via distance education through its sub-school Pacific Online.
